About Texas Livestock Protection Association
The Texas Livestock Protection Association is an animal welfare organization committed to safeguarding North Texas livestock. Our mission is to ensure the health, safety, and humane treatment of all livestock in our care. We work to protect livestock from neglect, promote responsible farming practices, and advocate for animal welfare laws. Our team brings together years of experience in animal care, veterinary medicine, and livestock management, making us a trusted resource for livestock protection in North Texas.

Our Services
We offer a comprehensive range of services aimed at safeguarding the welfare of livestock across North Texas. We collaborate with local law enforcement to probe allegations of livestock abuse or neglect.

Investigations Services
Our team of nationally certified humane investigators is equipped to investigate allegations of livestock abuse or neglect. We work closely with local authorities and animal control agencies in North Texas to ensure that all livestock are treated with the respect and care they deserve.

Rescue Responses
In addition to our investigations services, we also conduct rescue responses throughout North Texas. Our team has over ten years of experience in this field, and we are committed to providing immediate help and support to animals in need.

Education & Advocacy
We believe that education is a key component in preventing animal abuse and neglect. That’s why we offer a range of resources and educational materials designed to inform the public about the importance of livestock welfare. We also advocate for stronger animal welfare laws and work to raise awareness about the issues facing Texas livestock.

David Fuentes, Certified National Humane & Equine Investigator
•10+ years experience in animal cruelty investigations and rescue response in the public and nonprofit sectors
•Master’s degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in forensic investigations
•Nationally humane investigator certified
•Equine investigator certified
•Texas state peace officer certification
•Animal control certification
•Veteran officer for the United States Army, Operation Iraqi Freedom, 2008 – 2009
Dr. Susan Heath, DVM
•Owner of Heath Mobile Veterinary Services providing at-home and on-ranch veterinary care for large and small animals in Ellis and Southern Dallas counties
•Assists multiple county and municipal law enforcement agencies with animal cruelty cases in the field and in the courtroom
•Participated in the Vet Direct Program using grant money provided by ASPCA, Zoetis, and Humane Society of North Texas to help horse owners in need of financial assistance receive veterinary care for their horses
•Has organized and led trainings on cruelty to equine & livestock animals to multiple law enforcement agencies
